Cllr Adrian Watts
I joined the Armed Forces after leaving Bishop Stopford School and returned home to settle close to where I grew up. For 35 years I have been a part of the Burton community; I have worked for Weetabix for 25 years, spent 15 exciting years as a Scout leader and (don't hold it against me) am joint leader of the local ukulele club.
Many people may know me for my Facebook posts about my free little library, the community seed library, sharing allotment veg surplus and plants in the box outside my house, the National Garden Scheme, the Burton Litter Wombles and recently the Burton Latimer Community Nature Reserve.
My 3 girls were brought up here and although the town has changed physically there has always been a deep sense of home about the town to me and my wife, Sue.
I feel there is a groundswell of support for a more open, interactive, accountable and ecologically minded council and as such I feel proud and humbled to have so many local people supporting me standing; I am on the council not just for myself but to be a voice for the community I have loved, supported and enjoyed for most of my adult life so please get in touch and tell me how I can help.
